Who would have thought the Miami Heat might sweep the New York Knicks this year on the playoffs? I think no one, because this was predicted to be one of the closest series on the whole first round matchups. The Miami Heat is just a whole galaxy, with a star on every position on the court and a bench that might be the starting lineup of another team on the league. The New York Knicks have played some of the most physical basketball during the shortened regular season but they have proved to be inaccurate when it comes to stopping the Heat’s offense and on their offense Carmelo Anthony can’t do it all. Warriors try to win the series against the Clippers

This will mark the end of a 4 game season series where both the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Clippers have battled for supremacy in California. These two teams have had a great year, although it is unlikely that the Warriors will make the playoffs and the Clippers are practically in, they have played each other as hard as any game and being a semi rivalry given that they are both from the California area, dominance is important. The Bucks look to sneak into playoffs

Game two of this exciting match up, where we all remember the high score obtained the first time these offensive power houses met. The Indiana Pacers and the Milwaukee Bucks meet again in what will be game two of their 3 game series. Game one finished 125 to 104 in what has become the highest scoring game in Pacer history; while I’m sure the Bucks are not very happy that it come against them, they will have a chance to make things right again when they meet on Saturday night. This game is also important to the Pacers given that the Celtics are hot on their toes and could pass them up before the end of the season to that coveted 3rd seed in the East. The final game between these hot teams has arrived; the Memphis Grizzlies welcomes the Utah Jazz to Tennessee for what will be the last game of the three game series this season. Down 2 to nothing, the Grizzlies are simply looking not to get swept by the surging Jazz who are coming off a back to back win/loose against the San Antonio Spurs. The Grizzlies are not a team you would want to sleep on; they have won 5 of their last 6 games all against playoff contenders, including two huge wins over Oklahoma City and Miami which has placed them in the running for a spot in the post season. Dennis Rodman’s in trouble again…

Dennis Rodman is a 50 year professional basketball player who is known for a few different things, he holds the record in rebounds in one season as an NBA player, he has played along side the great of the game, winning 5 NBA Championships, 2 defensive player of the year awards and 2 appearances in the NBA all-star game. His fury and ability under the rim to get rebounds was unlike any other player, but he also had a dark side, that had a tendency of appearing in the middle of games, especially when there was a call that did not go his way. Portland gets active at trade deadline

The Portland Trail Blazers have been on the shopping market for a while now, knowing that they have been down on their luck and that the last few draft have not set them apart, dating back to picking Greg Oden over Kevin Durant and the rebuilding process was inevitable, so instead of wasting more time, they did what the had to do and got younger, much younger. In this trade they decided to send their veteran starting center, Marcus Campy to the Houston Rockets in exchange for some great young talent in point guard Jonny Flynn, Hasheem Thabeet a second year center and a future second round draft pick. Toronto looks to stay on the rebuilding boat

After publicly coming forward and saying that they will not be making any moves in this mid season trade dead line, the Toronto Raptors have came to an agreement with the Indiana Pacers to deal an unhappy player for a second round draft pick in the upcoming 2012 draft. The Raptors acquired 6th man of the year winner Leandro Barbosa from the Phoenix Suns not more than a season ago, but the excellent bench player has flopped in stats, averaging a career low in points, assists and steals since being traded and has openly said that he is unhappy in Toronto. The Blockbuster deal of the 2011/2012 NBA season

No one can truthfully say that they saw this deal coming. A 5 player swap between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Golden state Warriors have left many with their jaws still on the floor. It was even reported that the wife of the owner of the Warriors was shocked to find out what her husband had done. The deal consists in Golden state sending star shooting guard Monta Ellis, center Kwame Brown and backup center Ekpe Udoh to the Bucks in return for the services of starting center Andrew Bogut and veteran shooting guard Stephan Jackson. Spurs looking for Mobility in this Trade

In an odd move from the San Antonio Spurs, who are the second best team in the western conference and top 4 in the league, decided to ship veteran forward Richard Jefferson to the Golden State Warriors along with their 2012 first round draft pick, in return for Stephen Jackson, a veteran guard in the league. Looking from the outside in, as most fans do, I simply could not understand this move, it seems that the Spurs gave up a reliable, calm and trust worthy forward who is relatively injury free, for a guy who has already missed 16 games this season due to injury and countless in the past.
