Spurs look to stay perfect this postseason

The San Antonio Spurs are looking to not only keep their great playoff run alive by going up 3 games to none against the young Utah Jazz, but also to extend their winning spree that is now at 12 games dating back to April 12th. The Jazz must find a way to stop Parker or at least slow him down, it seems that the Spurs point guard is doing with the Jazz what he pleases and every time they try to double team him, he is able to find the open shooter for a duce. NBA Coach of the Year

Although this was a shortened season for all 30 teams, it seems that a handful of them saw value in that aspect, one of those teams was the San Antonio Spurs who have defied every and all odds with an aging roster to make an impressive run at the playoffs and a possibly another Championship banner for their rafters. Coach Gregg Popovich has been involved in coaching at the NBA level since 1988 where he started as an assistant coach for the Spurs, then decided in 1992 to accept the assistant coaching job for the Golden State Warriors until 1996. Hawks in Boston for game 3

This series is nothing new for either of the teams, this will be the 4th time in the last 6 seasons that they have faced themselves in the first round, last two seasons they have gone all 7 games. As always these games are high tempo and high tension, with Rajon Rondo getting ejected in game one and then suspended for game two, the Celtics had to find a way to even out the series in Atlanta after losing in their first meeting. Josh Smith seems to have hurt his knee and will be questionable for game three in Boston, which only gives the Celtics an advantage given that they are playing at home but will also be without sharp shooter Ray Allen. The Worst Record in NBA History

The National Basketball Association also known as the NBA was founded back in 1945, with only 8 teams, now it has 30 professional teams and manages over 50 minor league teams and this year it will crown a new champion. But something else happened this year that was different from previous ones, the Charlotte Bobcats captured a record that most would never want, nor could imagine holding; the Bobcats as of the end of the 2011-2012 regular season hold the worst NBA record in history… they ended the year with only 7 wins and 59 losses, making them the worst team in the history of the sport. The Jazz look to even out the series

The 2012 NBA playoffs have arrived and the western conference is set in what is panned to be a great first round series is the Utah Jazz in the 8th seed taking on the #2 San Antonio Spurs. After getting off to a rough start in game one, the Spurs found the way to pull out a great drive coming out of halftime and win the game, heading into this game two with a solid advantage over the Jazz. The Spurs won 3 of the four games played against the Jazz during this shortened regular season, which really does not mean too much in the playoffs, but it does bring a little something extra to the series. The fall of the MVP

A true guard at heart, a team player and an overachiever to say the least: these are a few of the words that can be used to describe the current NBA MVP Derrick Rose, but as of last night some have been using other words such as heartbreak, sadness and the end of the Chicago Bulls season, all this due to the fact that with only a minute and forty four seconds left in the 4th quarter of Saturday game one against Philadelphia, Rose drove in for a layup and landed awkwardly on his left knee resulting in a torn ACL ligament ending his playoff season and chances of repeating as league MVP. East coast Player of the week honors go to…

This last week was big in the NBA, a lot of teams were fighting to stay in the playoffs or move up in seeding while others were fighting just to make the post season, but out of all the players this last week, one specific player stood out more than the rest, a crucial part for his team’s recent success and at his age his play has not dropped. The player I am referring to is Boston Celtics power forward/center Kevin Garnett who at 35 years old has played 57 of the 60 game reduced season this year, making this his 17th NBA season and 4th overall with the Celtics. Could Kobe miss his 6th game in a row?

The Los Angeles Lakers have had somewhat of a difficult time in the last month, having lost their all-star player Kobe Bryant to a chine injury, they have had to depend heavily on center Andrew Bynum, who for lack of a better word is troublesome, having had issues over the last few weeks with his coach, media and teammates, but he will have to put all that aside if they want to prove that they still have what it takes to win but the San Antonio Spurs are not in the game of giving up or giving teams a pass to beat them, they compete and aside from the occasional rest night for the few veterans, they are out there night after night improving their standings in the west. Magic look to hold off Celtics

The Boston Celtics look to keep winning as they approach the last few games of the regular season, but the Orlando magic, which has had a difficult last couple of weeks, will look to beat the Celtics in their final game between each other. This will be game three of the series in which the Celtics have reigned supreme using mostly their defense to slow the Magic down, although it is unsure at this point if the Magic will count on Dwight Howard for their game because he is suffering from a bruised disc in his back and if Superman cannot play, well the Magic will have to come up with a huge plan B. Warriors try to win the series against the Clippers

This will mark the end of a 4 game season series where both the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Clippers have battled for supremacy in California. These two teams have had a great year, although it is unlikely that the Warriors will make the playoffs and the Clippers are practically in, they have played each other as hard as any game and being a semi rivalry given that they are both from the California area, dominance is important.
