NCAA Week 14th Picks: Tennesse at Kentucky

This interesting game is full of good expectations. Tennessee quarterback Erik Ainge, have shown a good performance. In Passing Yards, during the 2006 ha made 2989 passing yards and during the 2007 he made 3552 passing yards. From one year to another he showed us a rise of 25% and that is impressive. University of Tennessee has shown they know how to win and by “How to Win” I mean they won big during this year. They showed us how to rise from big defeats and play rough and strong against all the opponents that came up in scene during this season.

At the beginning of the season when Kentucky lost a couple of games and that is why everybody thought that the team was not a good pick for the season. Now at this advanced point of the season, we can clearly see that they have responded with some great wins, including a win over the Volunteers at Rupp earlier this year.

NCAA Football Week 14th Picks: South Carolina at Clemson

The annual Palmetto State football game between the University of South Carolina and Clemson University will be televised nationally on ESPN2. The Gamecocks (7-4) and Tigers (6-5) have met 105 times previously on the gridiron in a series that dates back to 1896. Since then, these two vigorous teams have had a rivalry with each other that continues today. Even more, we can tell that “They hate each other” since that last fight on the field in 2004 in which almost every player in the game was involved in a fight at the 4th quarter.

This time, these two violent teams South Carolina and Clemson are disputing an honors game at Clemson’s home field “Death Valley”. Clemson heads into this season and its rivalry continues on against South Carolina.  The Tigers (6-5) feel a lot of pressure because they need that victory over the Gamecocks (7-4) in order to qualify for the postseason. Some of those nerves come because they don’t have his defensive player Ricky Sapp for the rest of the season. Read the rest of this entry »

NBA Week 5 Picks: Miami at Phoenix

I don’t think anyone is particularly worried about a decline in points or assists. That was expected with less playing time and an offense that didn’t rely on Steve’s creative abilities 70% of the time. And no, that number has no basis in statistical reality.
What is more puzzling is MVP Steve demonstrating his usual ability to make the difficult look easy while at the same time making the seemingly easy look difficult.
We still see the pick and roll run to near perfection. We still see great shooting percentages and a knack for hitting timely big shots. And we still see at least the occasional glimpses of fast break brilliance.

What we don’t see is something you would expect from most second string point guards.
We don’t see crisp perimeter passing. We don’t see smart and well executed post entry passing. We don’t see good decision making in the half court game.
said he was “shocked” that he had to find out he wasn’t playing in tomorrow’s season opener from a reporter (me) following today’s practice. The bearded Curry was definitely angry. He said he’s been around every day and Mike D’Antoni has had plenty of time to inform him. Read the rest of this entry »

NBA Week 4 Picks: Houston at Washington

Tracy McGrady felt a sharp pain shoot through his left knee Monday night, the knee that had gone under the knife in May and had given him so much trouble ever since, and just got sick of it. He might be out for a while. He had long since accepted that he would not be at full strength until well into the season and had gone along with the plan of playing his way back. He struggled badly at times but kept playing, with just enough strong outings to renew his faith. Then he limped to the bench and never returned to the floor. Later, he openly wondered when he would be back, frustrated by being so limited. Read the rest of this entry »

NCAA Football Week 13 Picks: (20) Pittsburgh (7-2) at (19) Cincinnati (8-2)

BCS berth will be on the line in, when the 20th-ranked Panthers try to improve to 8-0 all-time against
 the No. 19 Bearcats.

The Panthers last played, when they took down Louisville 41-7. Pittsburgh took
advantage of five Cardinal turnovers and an efficient performance by quarterback Bill Stull.
If the Panthers win out, they will clinch the automatic BCS bid from the Big East, but a loss
against Rivalry cincinatti would seriously damage their hopes. Pitt plays West Virginia next Friday
in the Backyard Brawl before finishing the season at Connecticut.
