St. Petersburg Bowl invited this time the Memphis Tigers to play against the South Florida Bulls. The game will be taking place at the Tropicana Field and the kick off time will be 3:30 CST and it will be televised by ESPN2.

A big mistake not taken in consideration is that the game was scheduled at the same time in which the Tigers basketball team will be playing in home at Memphis TN, against Syracuse. This is the main reason why everybody is not expecting the Memphis fans to show up in the game. That gives the opportunity to make a sellout from South Florida, from one side taking the advantage of the weak team followers from Memphis.

This is a new bowl for the Tigers and it gives them a chance to perform a good BCS program, which is really good for them and also it gives them the huge opportunity to play in Florida. Talking about the past of both teams and their performance, we can base our predictions in the fact that both of them met twice in the past, with each team winning twice.

Talking about performance, we can see that in passing yards Memphis has 233 while his opponent has 255. In the rushing yards Memphis has 205 while South Florida has a total of 159. Here is where we see a huge difference. If South Florida does not make a good performance in the defensive part of the game, then Memphis will take the advantage to win over them.

In this case, my pick is Memphis because based on the statistics. I’m kind of weak in this decision, but, sometimes I wonder how important are the fans at the stadium to influence the performance of a team. That is the other side of the story, South Florida will have a lot of fans at the game and that is why I’m weak in this decision. Anyway, I think Memphis will make a good performance despite the lack of fans, but, is kind of hard to predict a game in which the conditions are not exactly the same for each team.
