The New Orleans Bowl this time will have the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles playing against the furious team The Troy Trojans. The game will be this December 21st at the Louisiana Superdome located at New Orleans, Louisiana and also it will be televised at ESPN at 8:15 PM EST.

Important stuff to consider in this game is that even that everybody thought that Southern Miss was not going to be able to reach the Bowl, they came back at the end with four straight won games and bang, they are now invited. They made an average of 25 points en each game.

Besides this, at the end Southern Miss showed better results, but, during the season in my opinion, is not the best position to be ranked in the 20th position in total offense. And I say this because on the other side of the field we have Troy, who only had one loss to a non BCS opponent during the season. This give us the terrific clue about who will be the pick for this game.

Even tough the Trojans are ranked 26th in the total offense, they have shown a clear and strong performance during the season. They made one change trading Jamie Hampton for Levi Brown right at the middle of the season, but, after the change, the results showed that it was a good decision.

For the Southern Miss, at the beginning of the season, was hard to see how their ranking was decreasing the level. Ending the season with a 6-6 is bad for them. Finishing the season with four wins does not mean that they are a really good team that can beat every opponent that get in the way. Instead, give us the clue that is not stable and is not really safe to trust.

Nothing compared with Troy, that during the season showed a really good standing and I will predict that the game will have a difference of at least seven points for Troy over Southern Miss. Of course, that makes my pick for this game, trusting the standing that they have shown during the entire season.
