UFC 106 has a new champion. Tito Ortiz was defeated by a huge margin by Griffin via split decision (28-29, 30-27, 29-28). Besides this fight, the night was full of action and there were more fights with also interesting results.Jon Fitch was originally set to fight Ricardo Almeida but Almeida was forced off the card with a knee injury. Fitch was moved to the UFC 107 card to fight Mike Pierce. On October 26, UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar pulled out of his fight against Shane Carwin due to an illness that has kept him from training for several weeks.
