When the sun goes down next Sunday, the Superdome will host the game between the Detroit Lions and the New Orleans Saints, one team started the season looking to be this year’s Cinderella Story and the other team that has been on the eye of everyone on the last couple of years.

The Detroit Lions have managed to move out of the hole of disappointment they were on the past to emerge this year as a good team, specially with the performance of Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson and the great improvement on defense they’ve had this season.

They were unbelievably good at the start of the season but as the weeks went by, they started to show inconsistency and then they started to lose games and now they’re not that much of a threat as they were in the first half of the season.

But don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying they are bad, but I believe they should keep on working and if they manage to continue this process of rebuilding the team, next season they might be taken seriously as a top NFL team, but this year they should fight for the wildcard and on this league, the wildcard run is more likely to be won by more traditional teams.

The New Orleans Saints are on the rise, and their mayor star, Drew Brees in on his best shape of the season.

This team is one of the most powerful and multiple options on the offense around the league, most of this credit due to Brees and his powerful and accurate arm, but this year they have also built a serious running game and that has helped them to give Brees more time and space to throw the football.

The defensive team is the little thing their coach should worry week after week, with a poor secondary they have allowed more points that expected.

Detroit has an average of 377 total yards per game and 329.5 against, 28.7 points scored per game and 22.4 allowed.

New Orleans have averaged 450 total yards per game and 370.8 against, scoring 32.9 points per game and allowing 22.9.

The line for this game has the Saints favorite by 10½ points and the total set on 54.

I tell you to take the over here, because you will see two of the top passing teams on the league, and even if the Lions have also one of the best passing defensive teams this game will sure have big numbers on the scoreboard so 8 touchdowns will not be that hard to score between both teams.
