This Thursday night, al the Alumni Stadium, we will see the Boston College Eagles host the Florida State Seminoles in a game where the Seminoles will try to extend their winning streak to 4 games and climb one more step looking at the top of the division, but on the other side of the field they have the Eagles waiting for them trying to establish some sort of momentum after their win last week against Maryland, a little bright spot in a season full of disappointment for Boston College.

Florida State is third on the Division, and this game serves as a great chance to close distance on the ACC standings. Based on a solid passing game and a full contact defense, they walk with a 5-3 record and after their 3 game winning streak, they are hungry for more and Boston College seems to be the next victim. They have EJ Manuel (1776 passing yards and 13 touchdowns, 143 rushing yards and 3 rushing touchdowns) at the quarterback position and he seems to be getting more solid performances on the team’s last games, backed up by Rashad Greene (457 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns), Kenny Shaw (308 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns) and Rodney Smith (468 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns) setting a more consistent game through the air, while Devonta Freeman (305 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns) takes the lead role on the ground. But their brightest side comes when we talk about defense, because the team allows an average of less than 17 points per game.

Boston College, is having one season to forget, with a really poor performance and getting beat almost on every game by plenty of points allowing almost a touchdown more than the amount of touchdowns they manage to score, and with that kind of performance there is no other way than failure, and it’s just sad to see a team like Boston College lacking of that sportsmanship spirit and they seem to fight against the destiny but they just don’t have the weapons to do so. On the offense, they have Chase Retting passing for 1394 yards but only with 7 touchdowns scored, and the rest of the team just has been as sleepy as their leader and nobody seems to wanting to take a step forward here.

The Seminoles average 432.8 total offensive yards per game, 35.6 points scored and 16.9 allowed while the Eagles have an average of 322.9 yards per game, 19.9 points scores and 25.1 allowed. The line for this game has Florida State favorite by 14.5 points and the total set on 44. I recommend taking Florida State here, because even if Boston College won last week and they are playing at home, I don’t see them cracking the Seminoles defensive line and they just will get outscored once again on their own field. Enjoy the game.
