Save the best for nighttime Oregon Ducks at Stanford Cardinal No doubt this will be the most expected game this Saturday; at least it is that way to me. It’s always a great experience to watch the Oregon Ducks with their always innovative uniforms to play great football, and on the other side, it’s also a great experience to see how Andrew Luck walks to his way to the Heisman Trophy.

The Ducks relay on their star LaMichael James (1061 rushing yards and 9 touchdowns), who leads the ground attack backed up by Kenjon Barner (601 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns), but they also have a scary air attack, product of how Darron Thomas (1549 passing yards and 19 touchdowns) connects with DeAnthony Thomas (382 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns) and Lavasier Tuinei (360 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns). Stanford just has a great and powerful offense, with one of the most promising quarterbacks in the entire league, Andrew Luck (2424 passing yards with 26 touchdowns), who let down a lot of people not taking the step into the NFL this year and coming back to school to show what he’s made of, and the top caliber quarterback he has become. But Luck is not alone in this team; they also have top performers on Stepfan Taylor (891 rushing yards with 8 touchdowns) and Tyler Gaffney (344 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns) on the backfield and Coby Fleener (432 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns) downfield. Both teams are top ranked on the BCS (Stanford is #4 and Oregon #7) which guarantees a great game, with two of the top offenses nationwide and a game full of stars that we’ll see on the NFL in short time. Oregon averages 510 total yards per game, 46 points per game and 20.8 allowed. Stanford has an average of 505.8 total yards per game, scoring 48.2 points per game and allowing 16.6. Stanford gets to this game undefeated while the Ducks have lost only one game (against LSU on the season opener). This game has Stanford favorite by 3½ points and the total on 68½. I’ll recommend taking the Cardinal here, Stanford has a little edge on defense allowing a couple of more points less and they also score a bit more than Oregon. WiseCat |
