Roar or Growl at Detroit Chicago Bears (2-2) at Detroit Lions (4-0) Monday Night Football, presents the undefeated Detroit Lions, looking to extend their perfect record to 5-0 this week against the Chicago Bears at Ford Field. It’s a great surprise to see the Detroit team march 5-0 this season, moreover after the completely disappointing last couple of season, where they ended every year winning a couple of games each year. But they were building a team for the future last years, strategically constructing starting with the quarterback, since they got Matthew Stafford dressed as a Lion, the team started to grow around him. |

The Chicago Bears, who have been really unstable last seasons, this year jump to the field with Jay Cutler at the center of the offense, backed up by running back Matt Forte (who leads the team in receiving and rushing yards), who’s having one of his most impressive season since the Bears drafted him back at 2008. Detroit’s 4-0 record is based in their impressive comebacks, trailing their games and coming from the back to win their first four games in the season, but those games they won have had a point difference of one touchdown or less in three of them (Tampa Bay, Minnesota, Dallas), basically with outstanding performances by Matthew Stafford (1217 passing yards and 11 touchdowns) and Calvin Johnson (321 receiving yards with 8 touchdowns). Meanwhile in Chicago, they started the season delivering a painful lesson to the Atlanta Falcons on the season opener, but falling with the same measure against the powerful Saints and Packers in weeks three and four. They bounced back against the Panthers last week but just their defensive team and the special teams unit stepped up in a game where they looked weak against a team on a rebuilding process as the Carolina Panthers. Detroit has averaged 376 yards per game allowing 334, scoring 33.8 points per game and allowing only 19 which speak about their massive offensive production and their permissive defense who had only one game not allowing the opponent to get ahead on the score early in the game. Chicago has an average of 308 offensive yards and allows 425.8 yards, scores 23.5 points per game and allows 24.5, and those numbers show how the Bears have been struggling on both sides of the football this season. In their particular matchup, in 20 games since 2001, Chicago has the lead 14-6, but this week I don’t see them losing one more time as stats may predict, the spread sets Detroit as a 4 point favorite and I think they can pull the win here and covering that 4 point spread.
