Nebraska Cornhuskers to Face Minnesota Golden Gophers in Big Ten Showdown!

Week eight of College Football is here already I for one find that hard to believe but that is the case and the game I want to talk a little about is that of a Big Ten matchup. The two teams that will battle it out this Saturday at 3:30pm Eastern Time on ABC will be Nebraska Cornhuskers against the Golden Gophers of Minnesota that are so far this season struggling to huge lengths. It is pretty sad when you see a team playing at home and they are an underdog by a whopping twenty-four and half points, pretty much saying that they will lose by give or take four touchdowns and knowing Nebraska a team that loves to score and are good at running up scores and if their Quarterback come Saturday has a sharp day don`t be shocked to see Nebraska winning by thirty plus points.

Taylor Martinez the Sophomore Quarterback from Corona, California is one of the main reasons behind the success that Nebraska has been having these last two seasons, so far this year he has completed 70 passes out of 129 attempts for a total of 1014 yards six touchdowns but has also thrown for a disappointing six interceptions. His last game which was against Ohio State was probably one of his finest games ever throwing for 191 yards and completed 72.7% of his passes and ran for one touchdown. So far this season he was scored a total of nine touchdowns and has scored in every single game and I don`t see why Saturdays game will be any different. With a weak defense like that of Minnesota this could be a game for him to really rise to the occasion and put up numbers that he has never done before. The Cornhuskers are currently 5-1 their only loss came to the then ranked number seven Wisconsin Badgers and Minnesota is 1-5, no matter what way I look at Minnesota all I see is room for improvement and areas where they lack skills and if they are not careful against Nebraska they might get handed a brutal beating.
