The regular college football season starts with an interesting game. Personally I like this game, is not the best of the night but is good enough for me. The game that will open the regular season is between South Carolina Gamecocks and the NC State Golfpacks. The venue will be the Carter-Finley Stadium at Raleigh, North Carolina and is going to be kicked off at 7:00 PM ET. The game will be on ESPN.
I think that the smartest thing to comment about is about the strengths of both teams. In this case I think that North Carolina is going to be in the position of defending the game while South Carolina will be in the offensive mode.
QB Stephen Garcia can make defenses when they don’t keep him in the bench, but at the same time he is a sophomore without experience leading with pressure and hence he doesn’t always make the best decisions. I know is difficult to start playing and at the beginning the matter how fast you can think in order to save the move.
That’s bad news for South Carolina, considering N.C. State sacked Gamecocks QB Tommy Beecher five times last year and forced three picks in the first half before Beecher left with a head injury in the fourth quarter.
We can recall that Arkansas was the only SEC team to surrender more sacks than South Carolina last year. I think this is enough to think that the Gamecocks pass protection will struggle in this contest as well.
