Air Force Falcons play Navy Midshipmen in first part of Commander-in-chief’s Trophy One can always sit and find great rivalries in all sports, but to me there is not much better than when it comes to College Sports, when two Schools go out there and simply hate each other and want to beat them as bad as possible. The great thing with College rivalries is that it don`t even matter what sport it is they simply want to humiliate the other team as much as possible and there are many of those in College but one that has been going on forever is actually between three teams. |

The teams that I am referring to are the following the Air Force Flacons, Navy Midshipmen and the Army Black Knights now these teams are tough and they are the ones that protect the United States on all fronts and yet they also have time to play sports and bleed the colors of their individual schools. The three schools play each other and the one that comes out with the best record takes home the Commander-in-chiefs Trophy and along with that comes the bragging rights for the entire year, because for these three teams there is nothing more important than the football games that they play. This Saturday we will have the first part of the three way match when Air Force travels to Maryland to face the Navy Midshipmen at Annapolis in the Navy Memorial Stadium. The books are currently saying that Navy is favorite to win by three points and the total is sitting on fifty-three and an half, last year when these two teams faced off on October 2nd at Air Force it was the Falcons that won the game with a final score of 14-6. Both teams stand with the same record of 2-1, but to me it is Navy that has looked more impressive so far and their only loss came in a close battle against the South Carolina Gamecocks in South Carolina with a score of 24-21. They will look for their Senior Quarterback Kirss Proctor to keep throwing the ball he is currently only completing 52.2% of his passes and has thrown for three touchdowns and two interceptions and has been sacked just once. Though he is not a Quarterback he does like to run the ball personally and has so far taken fifty-five carries for a total of 267 yards and four touchdowns. Look for Proctor to play a big role this Saturday and help his team Navy get the win at home. |
