The BIG final this time is going to be between the Florida Gators against the Oklahoma Sooners. The field will be at the Dolphin Stadium in Miami Florida. The game will be televised by Fox and it will be kicked off at 8:00 PM ET this January 8th, 2009.

Here we have some material to talk long about such an interesting game. It becomes interesting because the level of both teams is supposed to be the same one (Since they have the same win – lose ranking). Another important fact is that both of the teams are meeting for its first time at this game. That put lots of pressure in both teams and that is why we expect lots of action as well in this game. One of the teams has the most effective defense and the other one the most effective offense. What is the result of that sum?

Lets talk about important facts for each team. The most important thing to notice in my opinion is the loss of Murray for Oklahoma. Chris Brown and DeMarco Murray rushed in this season more than 1000 yards and that is really good from both of them. Murray will not play this game because of a ruptured hamstring. Is bad because in his record we see that he ran around 1002 yards and 14 Touchdowns and also had 395 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns.  Obviously Oklahoma still has the rusher Chris Brown, who will be the star in that game that night. He ran more around 1100 yards and 20 touchdowns. The bad thing in my opinion is to replace Murray by Mosis Madu. Is not a bad player but in his records we see that he ran just 483 yards. He has six scores, that is really good, but he is not a rusher, is just the one that is next in the list. We know that the most important thing about Oklahoma is the rushing offense that in my opinion should be ranked as the first one in the nation. Now Oklahoma has a problem and that is putting lots of confidence and pressure in Madu.

Every body expects a lot from Oklahoma. They have a current Stretch of 4 straight 60 point games. Actually based on history, that is the longest one in the Football Bowl Subdivision since Tulsa had five in a row back in 1919. So, based on that, we see another fact that put lots of pressure in Oklahoma… EVERY body is expecting the action and the Fury from this team.

On the other hand Florida has a very good defense. The defense is good but something is missing. This time they will have little help from the offensive coordinator Dan Mullen who will call plays for them. They think that the winning key for the game is him.

If we think about this, we might see a little light at the end for this game. Oklahoma rushing is going downhill a little bit, but that is not that much trouble since Florida defense depends on help from other people from the outside. That is the clue. Florida has problems in this area.
Now, lets talk a little bit about statistics. For Oklahoma we see that they have a total of 362 yards while Florida has just 220. On the other hand, Florida has 220 rushing yards while Oklahoma has 205 which is not a huge difference. Talking about points scored, Oklahoma has 52 while Florida has a total of 45.

Clearly we see a difference in the performance based in the statistics of the teams. We clearly see the results of Oklahoma rushing the ball while Florida is not that good at it. If we take in consideration that Florida is having problems in the defense and also asking help on the offense, we see that the solution for this game equation is clear. Oklahoma is the pick for the game and I suspect that the score will be close to 45-50 winning Oklahoma by 5 points at least. Is going to be an exiting game and I can’t wait to see how this prediction will become reality at the end of the game.
